Your fascia – your connective tissue’s soft-tissue component – normally supports and protects your muscles and other body structures. But when overuse, trauma or inactivity restricts it, pain, muscle tension and decreased blood flow to the tissue can result. Performing Myofascial Release on your skin (without oils or creams) lets your therapist first detect fascial restrictions and then release them by applying sustained pressure to affected tissues, allowing you to return to a pain-free, active lifestyle.
